Not equal sign (≠): copy and paste
The not-equal sign (≠) states that two values differ: 2 + 2 ≠ 5. Its relatives ≈ (approximately equal), ≤ and ≥ (less/greater than or equal) are all one Option keystroke away on a Mac.
In code, ≠ is written != (most languages) or <> (SQL, spreadsheets). Only a few languages such as Julia and Swift accept the actual ≠ character.
